Pancake Breakfast Fly-In - Sat Oct. 14th, 9:00 AM to Noon
What a great Pancake Breakfast Fly-in, Saturday October 14th at the Chapter 35 Clubhouse! We served pancakes, sausage, coffee and orange juice for 59 hungry patrons. Low ceilings and fog prevented many from flying in, but we did have three aircraft arrive from far afield, including Chris in his Autogyro Calidus. This event debuted the memorial Mike Logan Grinnin' Griddle, a 4-foot diameter monster machine powered by propane and electricity. A generous donation from Suzanne Logan, this griddle makes quick work of cooking flapjacks to perfection. For those who recall the monumental challenges we faced feeding nearly 200 patrons at Hondo in April, this is the answer to our prayers. Thanks to everyone who joined us. Thanks especially to Suzanne and Irma Logan who drove down from Austin to provide training and man the griddle!
Anthony Jaramillo, Air Academy Scholar and world traveler presented his briefing on his experiences at Oshkosh and his subsequent trip to China.
June Goode debuted our new EAA Chapter 35 coffee mug, and the reception was very positive. I'm sitting here in my office drinking from my EAA 35 mug this morning!
We welcomed six new members to the chapter on October 14th. Thank you for joining this group of aviation enthusiasts!
