Dave Baker's Aerosport Quail

This aircraft was built in 1977 by Jack Turner of Ohio. As far as I can research it is one of only three that are flying. Designed by E.H. Woods in the mid-70's it was sold as "kits" only. Mr. Woods designed a few other aircraft, Woody Pusher, Scamp, Rail and a Two Place versionĀ  of the Quail. While test flying the two place Quail it developed Flutter and crashed killing Mr. Woods. Only about 50 kits were sold and when I bought mine in 2006, only 13 were registered with the FAA. The aircraft is all aluminum construction except for the cowling, has cantilever wings, tricycle landing gdear and powered by a 1600cc VW engine.
